Our March 27-29 event at Texas World Speedway (TWS) is going to an “off-the-hook, Texas-sized celebration” of a track weekend. Here are just SOME of the things that will be going on over the course of Friday, Saturday & Sunday!
*Once again, the gang at Latemodel Restoration will be one of our major sponsors for the event – and we’re sure they’re going to have some of their great cars on track and have lots of goodies for the Saturday night raffle drawings.
* Track Guys has been selected to be featured on an episode of “MotorSports Roadtrip” hosted by Aaron Carotta scheduled to appear on Mav TV. Their coverage will highlight our unique brand of “performance driving education” and of course, all the “characters” it brings to the track – that’s all y’all! The more the merrier – come on out and be part of the fun!
* NEW: The MRT Hot Lap Challenge. MRT is the title sponsor for our time trail event within the event. The MRT Hot Lap Challenge is open to Intermediate and Advanced level drivers only. Competitors will be placed in classes based upon their car modifications (stock, modified or race) with the hot laps being recorded on Sunday with class trophies awarded at 4 PM. The MRT Hot Lap Challenge is limited to 50 participants, so contact Dell Hughes at [email protected] if you plan on running this event.
* Long-time sponsor, Chicane23 will once again be joining us at TWS. If you need to make some performance modifications to your ride before the event, be sure to let Jonathan Blevins or John George know what you need and they’ll take care of you.
* Free Lunch Saturday. The Mustang Club of America is providing lunch for ALL driving school participants and instructors on Saturday. The MCA is also sponsoring the Friday night “Meet & Greet” at the track after Registration and Tech Inspection closes.
* Charity Parade Laps. On both Saturday and Sunday, we will be collecting pre-parade donations for Still Creek Ranch, an accredited Christian academy that provides programs for children rescued from crisis situations throughout south-central Texas.
* Cruise-In Car Show and Poker Run (Saturday). SMC Events will be hosting an all-makes car/truck show on Saturday. Participants will also get to participate in the lunch-break parade laps and then head out for a Poker Run through the surrounding area.
