Track Guys is the “speed-induced” brainchild of two road course crazies: Jeff Lacina and Todd Zikas.
Actually, Track Guys is our vision of a fun, but highly educational performance driving events. We’ve been going to and instructing for other clubs and groups for years. Then it happened… on a late-night, caffeine-laced drive back from Road America, we decided, “Hey, let’s start our OWN program!”
Track Guys is serious about fun…but we are also serious about education. Not only teaching the “theory” of performance driving, but also taking that “in car”, lap after lap… hour after hour…working with a wide range of students.
We look forward to working with you at the track, in the classroom and in your car.
Jeff,
Last year you guys had an event scheduled for the Bluegrass Motorsports track near Kentucky Speedway. I was very interested in your test drive program and was disappointed when you had to cancel due to track conditions. Any update on maybe having an event there for 2010. And if not, any other events near the Louisville, KY area.
I will mention that I had the opportunity to meet and ride with Dave Hester a couple of years ago. In asking him about opportunities for novice driving events, he spoke highly of you.
Thanks,
Steve Fetter

Hi Steve,
Thanks for stopping by. At this point in time, we have not tried to secure a 2010 date at Bluegrass…and we haven’t received word that the track is even open. We would love to hold a Track Guys event in that geography and hope that the track will open sometime in the future. Right now, Track Guys has two events scheduled for 2010: March 27 & 28 at Texas World Speedway in College Station, TX; and May 22 & 23 at Sebring International Raceway in Sebring, FL – neither of which are very close to Louisville, KY.
The closest tracks to L’ville are Putnam Park Raceway, 35 miles west of Indianapolis, IN, or the infield road course at the Nashville Superspeedway near Lebanon, TN.
Dave Hester has instructed for us several times and his students speak highly of him…and to his point, we work hard with our novice and beginner drivers, helping them to get their performance driving careers off to a positive and fun start. How about a driving vacation and join us at Sebring in May?
Hope to see you at one of our future events!

Thanks for the update Jeff,
I am hopeful but not too optimistic about short term developments at Bluegrass. Seems the money is just not there. Funny thing last year my local mustang club actually drove that track. Unfortunately I was out of town and could not attend. The most surprising part is that the track was opened and a club allowed to drive with no supervising body in place. From what I was told from those who were there, one person representing the track opened the facility and drivers were allowed to run as fast as they wanted. Everyone seemed to get their fill, and in about an hour they left as a group. WOW !! Not saying I would not have taken a few laps myself if I were there but would make me nervous that no one was available in case of a mishap.
Will keep my fingers crossed about Bluegrass for the future. I have been to Nashville and was a part of the Car Show with the Nashville Mustang club. Really like that format to have the track event with the show and shine. Did not get to run the racing format as they were already full. Kind of difficult to coordinate making that happen from Louisville. But it is on the list.
Thanks Again,
Steve
